How does alcohol effect your body

I found this information very interesting from Dr. Aviva Romm, who is the leading expert on women's health and hormones. This is what she had to say about alcohol consumption:

[A]lcohol, even in just light to moderate amounts, can lead to:

🍸Elevated estradiol levels in the luteal phase causing cyclic breast symptoms, heavier periods and menstrual cramping

🍸More severe menopausal hot flashes, sleep troubles, and mood swings

🍸Increased risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in women with PCOS

🍸Regular drinking has been associated with endometriosis and also uterine fibroids.

🍸Alcohol, especially beer, also appears to be associated with an increased risk of developing fibroids.

🍸Nutrient depletions including B vitamins, selenium, and zinc necessary for healthy ovarian function

🍸And for every alcohol-containing drink consumed daily, her risk of breast cancer goes up 7%; 2-3 drinks a day has a lifetime risk of 15 to 25% increase.
